In modern times, Pimpri-Chinchwad (PCMC) is considered one of the fastest growing cities in India, driven by its flourishing industries, expanding infrastructure, and well-planned residential communities. The area was quite different, however, almost 30 years ago.

For example, some of the popular areas in the area, such as Pradhikaran, Ravet, Punawale, Moshi, and Spine Road, were still in the process of development in the early 1990s.
